We cordially invite all students to a unique lecture dedicated to the topic of FOOD WASTE – one of the most pressing socio-economic issues of our time. The lecture will take place on December 4th at 10:00 AM in an online format.
What is FOOD WASTE?
Every year, a staggering one-third of all food produced globally is wasted, amounting to over 1.3 billion tons of food! This issue affects both consumers and producers and has far-reaching consequences on multiple levels:
- Economic – financial losses reach billions of dollars annually.
- Social – the paradox of hunger alongside food waste raises critical questions about social justice.
- Environmental – food waste contributes to climate change, CO₂ emissions, and environmental degradation.
Guest Speaker:
Adriana Krawczyk – lecturer and researcher at the Amsterdam School of International Business. Dr. Krawczyk earned her Ph.D. in Economics and Business from the University of Groningen (RuG) in the Netherlands and her Master’s degree from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) in Poland. Her research focuses on sustainable consumer behavior, food waste, and e-commerce.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn more about how we can collectively combat food waste and build a more sustainable future!
Join us and be part of the change!
