Project Description

The project concerns the comprehensive modernisation and upgrading of infrastructure used for educating students in medical fields, specifically Medicine and Physiotherapy.

The initiative consists of three interconnected investment components:

  1. modernisation and equipping of the Medical Simulation Centre (MSC),
  2. modernisation and upgrading of infrastructure for pre-clinical education,
  3. adaptation of the SAN Library infrastructure to sanitary regime requirements.

The total eligible cost of the project amounts to PLN 14,999,463.41. The implementation period is scheduled from 1 September 2025 to 30 June 2026.

The project is implemented under Component D – “Efficiency, accessibility and quality of the healthcare system”, Investment D2.1.1: Investments related to the modernisation and upgrading of teaching facilities in connection with increased admission limits for medical studies, indicator D31G concerning the number of modernised educational facilities for pre-clinical training and related academic infrastructure.

Through the establishment of a fully equipped Medical Simulation Centre and the expansion of teaching facilities for Physiotherapy and pre-clinical sciences, the university will be able to increase the number of students enrolled in medical programmes and improve the quality of practical training. The project also addresses the need for sanitary-regime-compliant education and strengthens institutional readiness to respond to epidemic threats.

Main objective of the project

The main objective of the project implemented by Społeczna Akademia Nauk is to increase the number of medical personnel (physicians and physiotherapists) by enhancing the university’s teaching infrastructure capacity.

The project directly supports the increase in the number of students and graduates in medical programmes defined under Article 68(1)(1–8) of the Act on Higher Education and Science, with particular emphasis on Medicine and Physiotherapy. The strategic goal is to develop a modern teaching base enabling practical training in simulated clinical environments in line with the latest educational standards and requirements of the Ministry of Health.

Specific objectives

  1. Modernisation and equipping of the Medical Simulation Centre for the Medicine programme
  2. Modernisation and upgrading of pre-clinical teaching infrastructure
  3. Adaptation of the SAN Library infrastructure to sanitary regime conditions

Target groups

The project implemented by Społeczna Akademia Nauk is addressed to a strictly defined target group consisting of students of medical programmes at SAN University. Currently, the University educates students in the following fields:

  • Medicine (pursuant to Article 68(1)(1) of the Act on Higher Education and Science, Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571) – 23 students in the academic year 2024/2025
  • Physiotherapy (pursuant to Article 68(1)(7) of the Act on Higher Education and Science, Journal of Laws 2024, item 1571) – 655 students in the academic year 2024/2025

The project directly addresses challenges related to the shortage of highly qualified medical personnel and the need to increase admission limits to medical programmes, while ensuring the maintenance of high-quality teaching standards.
