SAN Charity
For years, our University has been involved in charitable campaigns throughout the Lodz region, as well as the country. Our Students and employees join in such actions as student blood collections, helping hospices and orphanages. In 2021, on the initiative of the Vice-Rector, Prof. Zofia Patory-Wysocka, a project called SAN Charity was initiated.
The aim of the project is, among other things, to organize charity events, as well as to support SAN Students facing cancer or other serious illnesses.
Help with SAN

One of the components of the campaign is the sale of the publication "Color of Memories" dedicated to Prof. Muzachim Al-Noorachi, who died in February 2021. Professor Muzahim Al-Noorachi was a unique person.
To honor his memory, the book Colors of Memories - In memoriam Muzahim Abdul Al-Noorachi 1940-2021 was prepared and published. The intention of the book was to introduce the Professor's profile as a member of our academic community and an extraordinary person. He was an uncommon person, an Iraqi by descent and a Pole by choice. He was an intellectual, a scientist, a teacher, a mentor, a good spirit and a friend to students, a respected colleague and a colleague who could always be counted on.
During the years he spent at the SAN University, he served as Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs or Dean of the Faculty of Management, among other positions. In the memory of the academic community, he will be remembered as an exceptional lecturer, as well as a wonderful person, dedicated to his work and students.

SAN Charity – activities of SAN students providing help and support
As a SAN University, we are involved in many initiatives aimed at drawing attention to the geopolitical situation in our country and around the world. Since February 2022, we have all been focusing on the problem of the war in Ukraine. From the very beginning of the conflict across our eastern border, the citizens of our country have been involved in aid initiatives for people fleeing the country affected by aggression. The community of our University is also actively involved in organizing projects, cooperating with institutions and individuals for whom human rights and security are fundamental values.
We are open to other people, regardless of their country of origin or other cultural barriers, which is why we are building a space free from intolerance and divisions. We create a place for dialogue and enable students to exchange their views, and we shape the character of those who study with us. Students at our university actively participate in various volunteer programs and organizations that support people in need. These activities are supervised by SAN's intercultural coordinator, Marina Hulii.

Marina Hulia is a multifaceted individual who serves in a number of prominent roles. She is the SAN Intercultural Coordinator, a teacher, and a social activist. In addition, she is the recipient of the Order of the Smile. Her professional endeavors include the provision of services to refugees, elderly individuals, and those grappling with homelessness. Previously, she served as a consultant to the Ministry of Education on matters of integration and the education of children from foreign countries. In 2020, she was honored with the prestigious Father Józef Tischner Award. The recipient of the Irena Sendler Award was honored for "making the world a better place." In 2016, at the Brest railway station in Belarus, where Chechen families with children had been camping for months, she established a democratic school, providing the youngest with an opportunity to experience a semblance of normal life. Presently, she is engaged in the establishment of a mutual aid system, wherein individuals facing the prospect of exclusion provide assistance to others. In collaboration with refugee families, she provides care for abandoned seniors residing in a nursing home in Warsaw. She engages in visits to animal shelters and hospices. She facilitates the professional activation of homeless individuals residing in the Wola district of Warsaw, collaborating with them in the construction of birdhouses.
The SAN University is involved in many initiatives guided by the idea of protecting human rights. For our students, a sense of security and unity are values without which the modern world cannot function. The outbreak of war in Ukraine has strengthened our need to help and support others, especially those fleeing war-torn areas. We show them that they are not left without help and can always count on our helping hand.
