About Academic Career Office

The Academic Career Office is a unit working for Students and Graduates of the University of Social Sciences in conscious and effective career path design. 

 

As part of our activities, we offer participation in free courses, workshops, training conferences and job fairs, support in the search for internships, internships and employment and professional advice. We also support academic entrepreneurship and the development of the talents of our students and graduates, by creating spaces for their use and exposure.

Objectives of the Academic Career Office

The key objective of the activity, and at the same time the mission of the Academic Career Office in Łódź, is to maximize the employability of students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences by raising knowledge, competences and skills using formal and informal forms of education.

This objective is realized through:

 

  • increasing the knowledge of students and graduates of the University od Social Sciences on the labor market by providing thematic publications, realizing counseling consultations, organizing conferences, scientific and methodological seminars, conducting training courses and workshops;
  • supporting the career decision-making process of students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences by providing individual and group career counseling services;
  • raising the self-awareness of students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences in the field of professional competence and predispositions through the implementation of counseling diagnostics;
  • promoting the idea of equal opportunities in the labor market through special support for students and graduates at risk of social and professional exclusion as a result of, for example, disability;
  • supporting relations between employers and students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences by organizing and participating in job fairs;
  • assistance in designing an attractive image of students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences on the labor market through direct assistance in the preparation of application documents, assistance in the selection of training and professional courses and supporting the development of social skills;
  • strengthening the proactive attitude of students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences by promoting the idea of self-employment;
  • supporting the organization of student internships and placements through cooperation with the Office for Cooperation with the Social and Economic Environment, which is a liaison between the University of Social Sciences and institutions and enterprises offering employment to students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences;
  • strengthening the University's cooperation with the local environment and employers to attract jobs, internships and apprenticeships for students and graduates of the University of Social Sciences through participation in local environment events.
