Scholarships for Students at SAN University

Who is eligible?

This scholarship is awarded to students who, in the previous academic year, achieved a high grade point average across all courses included in the curriculum, or demonstrated outstanding academic, artistic or sporting achievements.Students admitted to the first year of studies in the year of their secondary school leaving examination may also apply if they are winners of an international olympiad or winners/finalists of a national subject olympiad. 

 

Applications for the Rector’s Scholarship are accepted from a minimum GPA of 4.10. The scholarship is awarded to the top 10% of students within each programme. 

Students transferring from other universities are required to provide an official certificate confirming their GPA for the previous academic year (calculated to five decimal places) along with the date of their final degree award. 

 

How to apply? 

To apply for the Rector’s Scholarship, a formal application must be submitted. Detailed regulations and eligibility criteria are available in the Student - Scholarships section. 

The application must be completed via the Virtual Dean’s Office, then printed, signed and submitted in person at the University together with all required supporting documents. 

 

Scholarship amount 

The scholarship is awarded at a monthly rate of up to several hundred PLN. In the 2025/2026 academic year, the amount was PLN 800 per month.

 

How is the GPA calculated?

The GPA is calculated by summing all final grades from both the winter and summer semesters of the previous academic year (pass/fail grades are not included), and dividing the total by the number of graded courses. 

Courses assessed with a “pass” or “fail” (rather than a numerical grade) are not taken into account. 

 

Please note that all grades must be recorded in the Virtual Dean’s Office before submitting your application. In case of missing grades, students should contact their lecturers. 

Who is eligible? 

The Minister’s Scholarship may be awarded to students with a high GPA or outstanding academic, artistic or sporting achievements related to their studies, such as participation in research projects, academic publications, awards in international competitions, or high-level sporting achievements at national or international level.

 

How to apply?

Applications, together with supporting documents, should be submitted to the Rector’s Office. Applications positively reviewed by the University are then forwarded to the Ministry of Education and Science.

Scholarship amount 

The amount is determined by the Minister and may not exceed PLN 17,000. The number of scholarships is limited and allocated annually. The Minister of Education and Science may award no more than 840 scholarships in a given calendar year. 

 

Please note that, under the Higher Education Act, the scholarship is not available to graduates of bachelor’s programmes who enrol in another bachelor’s programme, nor to holders of a master’s degree undertaking further studies. 

Who is eligible? 

The programme is intended for graduates of bachelor’s programmes or students after the third year of long-cycle master’s studies who are conducting scientific research. 

Each year, up to 100 of the most talented applicants may receive funding for their own research projects. Programme participants may also accelerate their academic career path and apply for a doctoral degree without completing a master’s degree. 

Applicants are required to secure an academic supervisor and an institution where the research project will be carried out. The hosting institution submits the application on behalf of the candidate. 

 

How to apply?

Applications must be submitted electronically via the Funding Application System (OSF), available online: www.osf.opi.org.pl. Application deadlines are published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science. 

 

Scholarship amount 

The maximum grant amount (based on previous editions) has been up to PLN 220,000.

Who is eligible? 

Students who demonstrate strong academic performance and are in a difficult financial situation may apply for scholarships funded by local government authorities (municipalities, counties and voivodeships). 

 

How to apply?

Application procedures and deadlines are determined individually by each local authority. 

 

Scholarship amount 

The amount and number of scholarships are determined by the respective local government authority. 

Social Scholarships

Who is eligible?

A social scholarship may be awarded to students who are in a difficult financial situation. 

 

How to apply? 

The scholarship is granted upon submission of a documented application by the student, based on the monthly net income per person in the student’s household for the tax year preceding the academic year for which the scholarship is requested. 

The application must be completed via the Virtual Dean’s Office, then printed, signed, and submitted to the University together with all required supporting documents. 

 

Scholarship amount 

The social scholarship is awarded at a monthly rate of up to several thousand PLN. In the 2025/2026 academic year, the amount was PLN 2,450 per month. 

Who is eligible?

In particularly justified cases, students who are in a difficult financial situation may receive an increased social scholarship, for example due to: 

  • full orphanhood (up to the age of 20),  
  • being raised in foster care,  
  • residence in a student dormitory.  

 

How to apply? 

The supplement is awarded upon submission of an application by the student. 

The application must be completed via the Virtual Dean’s Office, then printed, signed, and submitted to the University together with all required supporting documents. 

 

Scholarship amount 

In the 2025/2026 academic year, the social scholarship supplement amounted to PLN 200 per month. 

Who is eligible?

An emergency grant may be awarded to a student who, due to unforeseen circumstances, has temporarily found themselves in a difficult financial situation. It is a form of one-off, non-repayable financial support. 

Such circumstances may include, for example, the death or serious illness of a family member, an accident, or a natural disaster. 

 

How to apply? 

The application for an emergency grant should be submitted immediately after the occurrence of the event (e.g. death or serious illness of a family member, accident, flood), and no later than 3 months after the incident.

The same supporting documents as for the social scholarship must be attached. 

 

Scholarship amount 

In the 2025/2026 academic year, the one-off emergency grant amounted to PLN 2,500. 

For Students with Disabilities

Who is eligible

This scholarship may be awarded to students with a valid certificate confirming a disability.

 

How to apply?

To apply for the scholarship for students with disabilities, an appropriate application must be submitted together with all required supporting documents. Regulations and detailed rules are available in the Student – Scholarships section. 

The application must be completed via the Virtual Dean’s Office, then printed, signed, and submitted to the University together with all required documents.

 

Scholarship amount 

The amount of the scholarship depends on the degree of disability. In the 2025/2026 academic year, the monthly amounts were as follows: 

  • severe disability: PLN 1,800 per month  
  • moderate disability: PLN 1,600 per month  
  • mild disability: PLN 1,400 per month  

Since 2001, the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON) has been providing financial support to students with disabilities through various programmes aimed at equalising educational opportunities. 

The purpose of this support is to improve access to higher education for persons with disabilities, as well as to prepare them for employment in the open labour market through continuous upskilling and qualification development.

Every student commencing or continuing their education at SAN University may benefit from a wide range of financial support schemes. The system of student financial assistance includes the Rector’s Scholarship for academic, artistic and sporting achievements, social scholarships, emergency grants, supplementary allowances, and support for students with disabilities. Students may also apply for external funding and scholarships, such as the Minister’s Scholarship for Education and Science, scholarships from local government authorities relevant to their place of residence, as well as funding from projects implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science and the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON). Students participating in the Erasmus+ programme are eligible for separate international mobility grants. 

In the 2025/2026 academic year, students of SAN University were eligible to apply for various forms of financial support. All benefits were awarded in accordance with the regulations governing student financial aid. 

 

  1. Social Scholarship: up to PLN 2,450

    • moderate disability: up to PLN 1,600  
    • severe disability: up to PLN 1,800

International Scholarships – Erasmus+

Students participating in the Erasmus+ international exchange programme receive a scholarship based on an agreement with their home university (signed by the student and the Rector). 

Scholarship amounts range from EUR 300 to EUR 700 per month, depending on the destination country. Financial support is granted for the duration of the stay at the partner university and is calculated from the first day of arrival. The payment method is specified in the financial agreement. 

 

Students eligible for a social scholarship receive an additional EUR 200 per month, payable only during the study period abroad.
