Scholarships
Every student starting or continuing their studies at SAN University can benefit from a wide range of financial support. The material aid for students includes the Rector’s Scholarships for academic, artistic, and sports achievements, social scholarships, grants, allowances, and benefits for people with disabilities. Students can also apply for external funding and scholarships, such as the Ministry of Education and Science Scholarship, scholarships from local government units appropriate for their place of residence, as well as funding from MEiN projects and the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled People. Separate foreign scholarships have been prepared for students participating in the Erasmus+ program.
Scholarships for Academic, Artistic, and Sports Achievements
Who can apply?
A student who has obtained a high average grade from all subjects included in the study plan and curriculum in the previous academic year or has academic, artistic, or sports achievements. A student admitted to the first year of studies in the year of the final exam who is a laureate of an international olympiad or a laureate or finalist of a nationwide subject olympiad may also apply.
Applications for the Rector’s Scholarship will be accepted for an average of 4.10 or higher. This scholarship will be awarded to the top 10% of students in each study program. Students from other universities are requested to bring a certificate of their arithmetic average from the last year of study with five decimal places and the defense date.
How to obtain the scholarship?
To obtain the Rector’s Scholarship for Academic Achievements, an appropriate application must be submitted. The regulations and rules for awarding the scholarship are available in the Student – Scholarships section.
The application must be filled out in the Virtual Dean's Office, then printed, signed, and submitted with all necessary attachments at the university building.
What is the scholarship amount?
The scholarship for academic achievements is granted in the amount of up to several hundred PLN per month. In the 2024/2025 academic year, it amounted to 800 PLN per month.
How to calculate the arithmetic average of final grades?
All final grades from the winter and summer semesters of the previous academic year must be added together (excluding pass/fail grades, e.g., “zal”). The sum of final grades is then divided by the number of final grades.
Forms of classes where a grade is replaced by "zal" or "nzal" are not considered in the calculation of the average.
Important Reminder:
It is necessary to have all grades entered in the Virtual Dean's Office before submitting applications. In case of missing grades, please contact the lecturers.
Minister of Education and Science Scholarship
Who can apply?
The Minister's Scholarship for Outstanding Academic Achievements may be granted to a student who has a high average grade or exceptional academic, artistic, or sports achievements related to their studies (e.g., participation in research projects, scientific publications, awards in international competitions, achievements for high sports results in national or international competitions).
How to obtain the scholarship?
The application for the Minister’s Scholarship, along with the required attachments, must be submitted to the Faculty Dean’s Office. Applications that receive a positive evaluation from the University will be forwarded to the Ministry of Education and Science. What is the scholarship amount?
The scholarship amount is determined by the relevant minister, but it cannot exceed 15,000 PLN. The number of available scholarships is limited for each minister overseeing universities. The Minister of Education and Science may award no more than 845 scholarships per calendar year.
Important Information
According to the Higher Education and Science Law, graduates of bachelor’s studies who begin another bachelor’s program and individuals with a master’s degree who undertake another master’s program are not eligible for the Minister’s Scholarship.
Who can apply?
The program is intended for graduates of bachelor's studies or students after the third year of a long-cycle master's program who are conducting scientific research. Every year, the 100 best applicants can receive a grant for their own research.
Winners of the program can also shorten their academic career path and apply for a Ph.D. without obtaining a master's degree. Candidates must find a scientific supervisor and an institution where they will carry out their project. The institution itself applies for the grant on behalf of the young researcher.
