« back...SAN students and lecturers at the BIP in Zagreb!

An Erasmus+-funded Blended Intensive Programme entitled 'Algebra Winter BIP 2025 Creative Visual Project' took place between 13 January 2025 and 17 January 2025 at our partner university Sveuciliste Algebra in Zagreb, in which Graphic Design students of the University of Social Sciences participated.

The BIP also consisted of a compulsory online component and each student received 3 ECTS credits. In addition, our lecturers Izabela Łęska, PhD and Joanna Mankiewicz, MA participated in the project as well. It was the first BIP attended by our students and staff and this is how they describe their impressions:

My participation in the Erasmus+ programme in Zagreb was an extremely interesting and developing experience. The opportunity to meet new people and their perspectives on our specialisation - computer graphics - brought freshness and inspiration to our ideas. Despite the demanding project, there was no shortage of fun either. The activities organised by our hosts fostered integration and allowed us to get to know the city better. There was also plenty of time to integrate outside Algebra with colleagues from other countries. I made many valuable friendships that I hope will last for a long time

Joanna

My participation in the BIP Erasmus programme was an extremely valuable experience that allowed me to broaden my knowledge and acquire new skills in an international environment. Working with participants from different countries enabled me to exchange perspectives and develop intercultural competences. Participation in classes and workshops enriched my academic and professional experience and contributed to networking. The programme has inspired me to develop further and seek new opportunities for international cooperation.

Algebra University makes an massive impression. The university is well stocked with specialised workshops and equipment (3D printers, green screen room, podcast studio), plus it has an exemplary graphic identity and wayfinding. There are various motivational slogans for students, relaxation areas, spacious lecture halls and a canteen with great food. There were a few BIPs during our stay, but the whole thing was very well organised logistically and ran very smoothly.

All participants agree that the mobility was a great experience and a large dose of practical knowledge.
