Would you prefer a male or female boss? Do women and men really have different leadership styles, and if so, what are the benefits of taking both dimensions of leadership into account in decision-making processes and organisational development strategies? This was just one of the issues explored by participants of the lectures held as part of SAN Entrepreneurship Week.

Entrepreneurship Week was organised by our university's Alumni Club, chaired by Kinga Wilczyńska, PhD, a graduate and current lecturer at SAN in Warsaw. Once again, the event provided an opportunity to meet business practitioners who talked about new applications of artificial intelligence (AI), business communication, marketing and sales, and the role of courage and flexibility in business decision-making.
- Mariola Glinka talked about how artificial intelligence tools can help optimise business processes, analyse data and make the right decisions.
- Wawrzyniec Jakubowski presented key marketing issues, including brand building, market analysis and effective promotional strategies. He also presented the latest trends in sales and work organisation that enable effective achievement of business goals.
- Maria Karpowicz used a specific business example to address topics such as courage in risk-taking, the ability to adapt to changing market conditions, and leveraging individual and team strengths to build innovative solutions.
- Maciej Orych focused on the differences and similarities in approaches to leadership based on gender. During his presentation, he showed how characteristics traditionally associated with female and male leadership styles can influence organisational culture, team dynamics and achieved results.
- Karol Poznański spoke about how to communicate effectively not only when representing a large company, but also a small business or even while self-employed. He reminded us that although we all communicate every day, this does not mean that we are able to talk properly about ourselves, our company or the services we offer. And in business, words have the power to both create and destroy.
On behalf of the Alumni Club, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Maciej Dębski. PhD (lecturer at the University of Social Sciences branch in Warsaw) for his support. His commitment and assistance at every stage had a decisive impact on the success of Entrepreneurship Week.
We would also like to thank our speakers, whose presentations were highly rated by students and whose substantive value and inspiring nature were particularly appreciated.
A report on Entrepreneurship Week will appear in the university publication ‘The San’ and similar events will be held soon! We are constantly listening to the needs of the academic community, so if you would like to share your impressions or ideas for future initiatives, please contact us at kwilczynska@san.edu.pl.
See you soon!
