« back...Dutch student about his semester at SAN
In the winter semester of the 2024/2025 academic year, the Social Academy of Sciences had the pleasure of hosting Vanessa, a student from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, who studied Management as part of the Erasmus+ programme.
Vanessa shares her impressions of her stay in Poland, emphasising that it was a time not only of intensive learning but also of fascinating discovery of a new culture.
My semester abroad in Poland was not only a cultural discovery, but also an extremely enriching academic experience. The program there was well-structured and offered an interesting mix of theoretical knowledge and practical applications. I particularly appreciated the high quality of the teaching and the motivated, dedicated lecturers. The teachers were always very helpful and had a genuine interest in helping the students develop both academically and personally. The classes were dynamic and interactive, which I really enjoyed. Instead of just dry theory, the focus was often on practical examples and discussions, which allowed us to directly apply and deepen what we had learned. I found the diverse perspectives presented in the seminars particularly exciting, as many of the fellow students came from different countries, and we often had interesting, international discussions. The academic atmosphere at the Polish university was very positive – the students were engaged, and the professors always encouraged us to ask questions and think critically. Overall, studying in Poland was very enriching. It not only provided me with new academic knowledge, but also helped me develop personally. The combination of excellent teaching, an open learning environment, and the opportunity to make international contacts made the semester abroad an unforgettable experience. I would definitely do another semester abroad in Poland, as it promoted both my academic and personal development in so many ways.
